Empower Youth, Explore Stories

EYES empowers youth to engage with their cultural heritage through digital storytelling, fostering community identity, active citizenship, and a deeper connection to European values.

CONTEXT AND NEEDS

Importance of cultural heritage for youth engagement

As young people face a rapidly changing world, it is important for them to connect with their cultural heritage to foster a sense of community, strengthen local identity, and promote active citizenship. The EYES project aims to engage youth in exploring their cultural roots while linking local traditions to broader European values like democracy, diversity, and shared history.

Educational challenges in cultural heritage education

Traditional methods to teaching cultural heritage often fail to captivate young learners or to integrate modern tools that resonate with them. There is a gap in resources that combine both cultural education and digital literacy in an engaging way. Youth need more interactive and immersive methods to understand their heritage and present it creatively, ensuring they are equipped to participate in civic life.

Project “Empower Youth, Explore Stories”

This project aims to empower young people by enabling them to explore and present their local cultural heritage through digital and multimedia tools. The project fosters digital literacy and active citizenship, and enhances their connection to local traditions and European values by guiding youth to create their own heritage tours.
